Apply→Cohort I runs October 4 – December 28, 2026. Move-in is October 4th and move-out is December 28th. PurpleRain intends to run approximately two cohorts per year.
The residency is fully free to live in — accommodation, electricity, water, internet, shared household expenses, community activities, and general operational costs are all covered. There is no monthly rent. A refundable security deposit is required before move-in and is returned in full after move-out unless there are damages or outstanding dues.
Yes. A refundable security deposit is required before move-in. It is returned in full within 14 days of move-out, provided there are no damages beyond normal wear and tear and no outstanding dues.
Apply online. Every application is reviewed internally. Shortlisted applicants are invited for a Google Meet interview. Successful applicants receive acceptance and documentation requirements — the residency is fully free, so there is no payment to complete.
Applicants must complete the application and interview, and agree to residency rules. We welcome founders, students, engineers, designers, writers, artists, researchers, filmmakers, freelancers, remote workers, builders, and creators. Couples may apply — each person is assessed individually.
Mysore, Karnataka — near Mysore or in the Mysore Industrial Area. Final property details are shared with accepted residents before move-in.
Residents are responsible for their own meals. We are exploring partnerships with local restaurants to offer concessions, but we cannot guarantee anything at this stage. Residents are encouraged to cook together, organise shared grocery runs, or order food collectively where practical.
Double-occupancy bedrooms in a shared villa or apartment. Residents may mutually choose roommates regardless of gender. Shared bathrooms, workspaces, living room, dining area, laundry, and housekeeping are included.
Between 8 and 12 residents per cohort. Selection is holistic — we look at character, ambition, portfolio, community fit, and how you elevate the people around you.
No. PurpleRain is a live-in residential community. You share a house with 8–12 ambitious people for three months. The community is the product — not a drop-in workspace.
